Collaborative Project - Milla



As part of the Foundations of Professional Development module during my Masters in Digital Marketing at Royal Holloway, University of London, we had to carry out a collaborative and comprehensive project to develop teamwork skills, through the distribution of different professional roles in de Digital Marketing field. The objective of this project was to find a problem-solution within the energy sector and develop a strategy, depending on the interest, B2B or B2C.

My role within the team was Awareness & Interest Specialist. As part of this role, I first had to survey the state of the art, and opinion of the top companies in the sector, as well as the consumption behavior of households in the United Kingdom.


This market research resulted in very interesting data that showed a niche to serve, as it satisfies a need and also creates economic returns for those who develop it. All this is accompanied by an environmentalist and responsible intention, very much in tune with the Sustainable Goals of the United Nations.


This is how we created "Milla".


Milla is your newest home feature that will transform your way of life. A friendly device that enhances your knowledge and awareness about your carbon footprint. This personalized product will be programmed to monitor how much energy you use in the home, how much water is being used, and numerous other aspects of your everyday life. All these aspects will be accessible through an app on your phone or tablet where you can track the different ways you are leaving a carbon footprint behind for future generations. Not only that, you will be able to share your updates and goals through the “share” option. This will encourage the “FOMO” perspective we are enhancing to allow people to be more in touch with sustainability. Making people aware of the problem with constant repetition, and educating them about how their lifestyle could impact the future by users being more knowledgeable about ways to be sustainable. The energy companies across the globe will also have an opportunity to advertise their initiatives and products through our device which will reach our users as “suggestions” about how to be more sustainable.


The UN sustainable goals we will be tackling through MILLA are -
